Scott Deutschand hat uns 8 MTBs zum Vorzugspreis verkauft, die wir in den kommenden Jahren beim KiliMAN an tansanische Biker wir Yuma ausleihen werden. Ihr erinnert Euch, das war 2008 der Fahrer mit dem Single-Speed-Rad. Die Begleichung der verbleibenden Kosten für die 8 Räder hat die österreichische Mobilfunkfirma 3 (DREI) übernommen (www.drei.at). 3 kommt im Oktober mit einer Incentive-Biketour nach Tansania und wir fahren mit 18 Jungs und Mädels im Auftrag der die Tour ausrichtenden Firma Team Factory (www.teamfactory.at) um den Kilimanjaro. Schön, dass mit Hilfe von Scott und 3 drei Monate später 8 schwarze Jungs und Mädels beim VAUDE KiliMAN technisch nicht mehr im Nachteil gegenüber den wazungus sind. Short in English: Scott Germany sold us 8 mountain bikes for a good price so that we can lend MTBs to Tanzanian athletes during the KiliMAN event in the next years. The remaining costs of the bikes took the sponsor 3 (DREI), a mobile company from Austria (www.drei.at). For this company we are operating together with the company Team Factory from Austria (www.teamfactory.at) an incentive bike tour around Kilimanjaro with 18 boys and girls in October. Nice that because of Scott and 3 now 8 black boys and girls will have no technical disadvantages anymore three month later during the VAUDE KiliMAN compared with the wazungus. Endlich! Rainer Huber hat zugegriffen und das Geld für das Scott Addict geht komplett an den KiliMAN 2009. Danke an Rainer und die Sponsoren. Rainer kann nun einige Stundenkilometer zulegen beim nächsten Straßenrennen und braucht nicht ein Gramm abzunehmen. Oder er kann sein Tempo halten und 13kg (Fahrrad alt)-5,9kg (Addict) = 7,1 kg in Form von Weißwürsten und Weißbier zulegen. Egal, wie auch immer, Rainer, wir wünschen Dir alles Gute auf dem Radl!

Im Februar 2009 findet zum vierten Mal die Kilimanjaro Adventure Challenge mit Teilnehmern aus drei Kontinenten statt. Tansanische Sportler sind nach wie vor auf Unterstützung angewiesen. Zur Ergänzung des Engagements des Titelsponsors VAUDE suchen wir Firmen und Einzelpersonen, die eine 200 Euro Patenschaft über einen tansanischen Athleten übernehmen und ihm somit die Teilnahme am KiliMAN ermöglichen. Werden Sie Pate z.B. von Yuma, der 2008 die erste MTB-Etappe barfuss beendete, da seine Schuhe kaputt gegangen waren. Der von Ihnen unterstützte Sportler wird selbstverständlich Bekleidung mit Ihrem Firmenlogo tragen und ein Foodpoint wird mit Ihrer Bannerwerbung ausgestattet. Danke für Ihre Hilfe!

Short in English: In February 2009 the forth Kilimanjaro Challenge starts with participants from three continents. Tanzanian athletes are still depending on support . We are therefore looking for businesses or people, who would be interested to sponsor a Tanzanian athlete with 200 Euros, so he or she will be able to participate in the Kilimanjaro Challenge. Become a sponsor of e. g. Yuma, who finished the first run of the mountain bike marathon in 2008 barefoot, because his shoes broke and fell off. Vor zwei Wochen waren wir erstmals mit unserem neuen VAUDE-Stand auf einer Laufveranstaltung, dem Halbmarathon in Minden. Tolle Veranstaltung, organisiert von tollen Leuten, nämlich u.a. von Lutz Carta von der „Mondgruppe“ (Besteigung des Kili letzten Februar bei Mondschein) aber leider mit starkem Regen und wir konnten nicht viel verkaufen. Der Erlös des Verkaufs soll ja tansanischen Sportlern beim nächsten KiliMAN Februar 2009 zugute kommen. Ein paar originale Massai-Sandalen hatten wir erstmalig auch in Minden dabei. Die sind aus alten Autoreifen hergestellt und es ist schon eine Ironie, dass die Massai durchweg so etwas tragen und in den Industrieländern MBT Schuhe angeboten werden, wie auf dem Bild unten für 230 USD. MBT heißt Masai Barefoot Technology und hat angeblich die Massai-Laufkultur verinnerlicht. Kein weiterer Kommentar notwendig.

Short in English: We spend a weekend in Minden (half marathon event) and tried to sell products to raise money for Tanzanian athletes who will take part in the KiliMAN 2009. The half marathon was a great event, organized with others by Lutz Carta, one of our Kilimanjaro climbers (moon group) but unfortunately it was raining and we sold less. We had also some original Massai sandals to sell. They are made from old tires. It`s an irony that the Massai are walking with this shoes and in our industrial world you can by MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) shoes for 230 USD like in the picture. No comment!

Die Massai-Glücksarmbänder wirken doch! Hatte ja im Juni in Tansania acht neue Bänder an Arme und Beine anbringen lassen und acht Wünsche dabei erdacht. Nun sind schon 6 Armbänder abgefallen und zwar jedes Mal dann, wenn der entsprechende Wunsch in Erfüllung gegangen ist. Der größte Wunsch war, VAUDE als Titelsponsor für den KiliMAN zu gewinnen und es ist unglaublich, dass das geklappt hat. Wir haben nun also die VAUDE Kilimanjaro Adventure Challenge 2009 und sind glücklich, dass so eine bekannte Firma wie VAUDE (www.vaude.de) auch ein Herz für den Sport in Afrika hat! „VAUDE – The spirit of Mountain Sports! Yeh!“

Short in English: VAUDE, the biggest German mountain sports supplier is the title sponsor of KiliMAN 2009! “VAUDE – The spirit of Mountain Sports! Yeh!” We are completely happy about this and I think, it is because VAUDE has a heart for Africa and because of the Massai bracelets!
