Welcome to Paolo

We say a warm welcome to Paolo in Dublin, Irland. He has registered for KiliMAN 2009 and is starting his preparations. He will write here from time to time about the progress. Paolo, how is the life in Dublin? What are you doing if you are not on a bike or running?

Paolo: My name is Paolo Armani I grew up in Liverpool England. I now live in Dublin and am lucky to be able to train in the biggest park in europe and have 38 miles of beach front as well.

I ran my first mararthon in 2004 and have become addicted to running, I have completed 15 marathons so far (all slow, but just happy to finish). I have completed the Marathon Des Sable ( even slower and many many blisters, great adventure but never again)

I read about Kiliman from the Lonely Planet Guide (Christina: Thanks to the editors; we did not know that the event is insite!) and thought what the hell….I want to push myself out of my comfort zone and have the adventure of a life time. I’m looking froward to the challenge in 2009 and also looking forward to meeting new people…..who are just as mad……

Kurzfassung Deutsch: Wir haben nun Paolo Armani als KiliMAN Teilnehmer 2009. Er stammt aus Liverpool, England, lebt aber jetzt in Dublin, Irland. Dort hat er auch optimale Bedingungen zum trainieren in Europas größtem Park und mit 38 Meilen Strand.

Paolo hat 2004 angefangen Marathons zu rennen und hat es nun auf 15 erfolgreich beendetet gebracht, wenn auch nicht als Sieger. Einer war der Des Sable Marathon, der ein tolles Erlebnis war, aber Paolo möchte ihn nicht wiederholen…

Über den KiliMAN hat er im Lonely Planet Guide gelesen (danke an die Macher, wußten gar nicht, dass wir da drin sind). Paolo möchte sich mit dem KiliMAN einer neuen Herausforderung stellen und das Abenteuer seines Lebens erleben. Und er freut sich ähnlich verrückte Leute zu treffen…
